Celebrity Beyond
7 Nights Bahamas, Mexico and Grand Cayman
Feb 12-19, 2023

We absolutely loved Celebrity Beyond! This is our 8th cruise and I can’t imagine cruising with anyone other than Celebrity after this trip. Everything about the ship was beautiful and well though out. From the comfy nooks, unique furniture pieces and amazing art installations to the hidden gem restaurants you’ll wish you found earlier in the cruise, Beyond is a step above! And of course the infinite veranda was so cool. We actually slept a few nights with the window down listening to the sounds of the ocean! The days of “you only use your small cabin for sleeping” are over! I’m hooked on Celebrity!!

Enchanted Princess
7 Day Canada & New England from New York
Oct 22-29, 2022

Let’s see . . where do I begin? We absolutely loved sailing with Princess on the Enchanted. The ship is gorgeous . . from the public areas to the balcony room we had. Everything was above and beyond. Due to my husband’s health, we did not spend a lot of time in public areas, but when we did, we were greeted by crew members with smiles and enthusiasm to help us in any way they could. They were attentive to him and were always checking to see if they could assist in any way. The toast to the officers was a special time we spent in the public areas.

From the beginning:
We arrived a day early and a shuttle/car from the hotel picked us up at the airport and delivered us to the Astoria. I would choose to stay there again for the night before a cruise. The hotel accommodated our early noontime arrival and had our room ready shortly after. When it was time to go back to the airport the next morning, the driver took us back, dropped us off and we easily found the group of cruisers waiting as a group, although this part was a bit confusing since Norwegian people were mixed in with Princess, plus the people with the signs were also a combination of several different cruise lines, but they called out the groups and we were able to get on the first group to the ship.

Check in was amazing!! It was so easy and quickly done. We were on the ship and in our room after such a short, quick procedure of entry. We met our room steward who immediately helped my husband with his cpap machine, an extension, and a jug of water. He got me three extra pillows, as well. I loved the medallion entry system . . . . I need one of those for my house!

We spent all of our week on the ship and did not leave due to his pain level but having the balcony was perfect to help us see other things. We were able to sit comfortably outside in the beautiful weather, watch the water, and be restored emotionally. Our weather was beautiful except at Bar Harbor where the fog was so heavy that the captain recommended not going off on the tender if we did not need to get off. We had paid for an excursion but forfeited it by our choice which was helpful to my husband because of his back. We sat on the deck and watched the fog and other happenings around us. It was simply a good restful time.

We spent most of our time reading or sitting in the atrium area listening to music, people watching, drinking International coffees, and reading. We did explore the ship a little at a time as my husband could endure and one day I took off on my own and explored all the areas and shops on my own. Again, the ship is beautiful and extremely clean. I loved the additional hand washing stations outside the dining areas. Several times I went and ask the guest services some general questions that maybe could have been answered exploring my medallion but it was quicker for me to simply ask and they were so kind and helpful.

When we disembarked we had just a small issue . . . my big suitcase had been taken by someone else so I did not have it at first. Several people in that area helped me search for it, thinking maybe it went to a different “colored area” but at last it was brought back by someone who had accidentally taken it. There were “luggage carriers/carts” there who helped us get to the bus that would transport us back to the airport for our first flights home. Our group to leave the ship was scheduled for 8:00. It was exactly 8:00; we were on the transfer bus at 8:30 and at the airport by 9:15. It was the easiest and most efficient transfer we have ever done.

I would recommend sailing with Princess again. . . you know we were Celebrity people but were so pleased with Princess, we would probably choose this cruise line again. Thank you for planning, for answering all my endless questions, for sending me all the last minute itinerary details for the airport and ship. You are the best!!!
Blessings

Hello! Oh my! What a wonderful adventure. Arlene- everything was perfect. The accommodations , the connections, and the whole experience. It was above our expectations. Thank you for all your assistance. We are trying to decide where next and I will call you first when we get ready. There wasn’t anything we were disappointed or unhappy with. I have so many stories I can share. We loved the local artisan stops and surprises thrown in. Thank you again for a truly positive experience. Ray and Ruth

Dear Arlene:
We both enjoy sailing on these larger ships. The service from all the staff is second to none. The food and entertainment was exquisite. The Soeders also enjoyed the cruise.
Elena and I are looking forward to December, when we once again will be enjoying Royal Caribbean and sailing with our friends from Owatonna Lodge # 62.
Thank you again.

Best regards,

Celebrity’s Constellation
Asia Cruise Jan 20-Feb04, 2019
Singapore/Bangkok, Thailand/Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam/Hong Kong & Shanghai, China

Hi Arlene, just want to drop you a note regarding our Asian cruise. We got back yesterday. It was a very long day. The cruise itinerary was great. The sights were amazing and we meet so many nice people that we can now call our friends. I was a little worried about the number of days at sea, but it worked out great, it gave us days to relax after full day excursions.

The ship, (Constellation) was older and does need refurbishing, which it’s scheduled to have next year. Our cabin was very nice and our cabin steward was great. The Hotels in Signapore and Shanghai were also very nice.

Tom and I are glad we made the trip to that part of the World, and did by cruising instead of a land only trip.
Best Regard,
Rosanna S.

Royal Caribbean,
Empress of the Seas
Cuba/Caribbean Cruise
Jan 27, 2019

Our Royal Caribbean Ship, Empress of the Seas, docked in Old Havana. We took a 5 hour tour in old vintage cars. Ours was a pink 1962 Pontiac. It included a lot of walking and history. They claim to be a socialistic country. They have free medical and free education. There are many poor people earning only $30.00 per month but do get food subsidies that DO NOT last a month. They are a safe country, no one is allowed a gun and penalty for drugs is very stiff. My husbands highlight ( outside of the vintage cars) was buying and bringing home Cuban cigars. You can walk to most areas including the flee market. Everything seems to be run by the government and you have to use Cuban money. When I go back again, I will take a tour of the newer part of Havana.

Honolulu, Oahu and Maui, Hawaii
January 12-22, 2018

Hi Arlene:
We had a great time!!

From the moment of our first flight out of Phoenix to the return flight home….everything was great!!! No complaints on the weather, the excursions, the food, the sights…..it was all great. Our butts were dragging with the back to back excursions, but we both agreed that doing it this way left our next trip back to be all about golf and relaxing!!!

We’re glad we started in Honolulu and only stayed the four days. It gave us enough time to see what we really wanted to see. We found it to be way too many people (but very friendly) and just to hectic for a long stay. At least, for us.

Maui was definitely more laid back and perfect for the six day stay.

All of the excursions that we went on had great guides, very knowledgeable about their tours and extremely friendly. Captain Kevin and his crew on the Trilogy Whale Watching were great. Our paperwork said it that it was a three hour duration, but it was only two hours. Hopefully, this was just a typo and that we didn’t pay for three hours. Honestly, two hours was perfect.

Dan loved the helicopter ride and had a perfect front row seat. Maybe next time I’ll build up enough nerve to do it too!!

Thank you for all your suggestions on the tours and all your help in making our trip to Hawaii very memorable!!

Globus Escorted Tours
Best of Italy
Oct 8-18, 2018

Hi Arlene, We had a fabulous time!! It was a great trip! Our tour guide, Salvatore Russo was wonderful. He was very efficient and got us where we needed to be when we needed to be there. He was very funny and personable. It was a good group of people of mixed ages. My girls, 49(on the trip) and 45 were not the youngest. There were some in their 30s which was nice for all of us. The local experts were impressive. We were on the move but we expected that.
The only comment I have is about the breakfasts. It was pretty much the same menu throughout with hot protein limited to scrambled eggs which were marginally edible.

Thanks for all your help!

7 day Eastern Mediterranean Cruise

Thank you for arranging a great vacation for me and MJ. I still can't believe I touched a Roman wall built 300 years before Christ was born or walked the steps of a church in Sicily in which my fellow Jews were forced to walk during the inquisition. Also the Star War Strom Troopers on Gaudi’s' church made an impression. The bonus was sailing past the Island of Corsica where Napoleon was incarcerated.
We may be planning another trip. My brother and I have been talking about a trip to London and Paris with a one day stopover in Iceland using one of those airlines flying from Cleveland. We think 2 or 3 days in each city. Again probably in September. I am favoring this travel over a cruise because the two places we liked most this past trip were Athens and Barcelona because we spent time and it did not have the feel of a quick incursion. “What ideas can you provide us?

It was great! Thank you . We enjoyed an extra day in Barcelona doing the "hop on, hop off" bus. Insight hotels, guides, itinerary were the best we've experienced touring.
Have a great day, Arlene.
